Deftones

Deftones is one of the most interesting metal bands. Ever. The quartet from California are among the founders of nu metal, the genre that also brought us Korn, Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park. They have since broken loose and embarked on their very own experimental journey, somewhere between metal, alternative rock and post-punk. “The Radiohead of metal”, according to some. The albums ‘Adrenaline’ (1995), ‘Around the Fur’ (1997) and ‘White Pony’ (2000) are essential for those who like it hard. The veteran band’s tenth and latest album is proof of their continued relevance. Their concert in Werchter will follow a sold-out US tour. Fun fact: Linkin Park’s Belgian debut was as an opening act for Deftones, in 2001 at the Brielpoort in Deinze.
