Hermanos Gutiérrez

Sounds very Spanish, right? But Alejandro and Estevan Gutiérrez actually hail from Zurich where they were raised by a Swiss father and an Ecuadorian mother. Their musical upbringing was a mix of surf rock and 50s Latin American tunes. The brothers picked up guitars and formed a two-piece instrumental band. A road trip through the Mojave Desert revealed a crucial truth: the desert is their ultimate muse. They draw heavy inspiration from Ry Cooder’s soundtrack for Paris, Texas and the legendary work of Ennio Morricone for countless spaghetti westerns. Their breakout album El Bueno y El Malo (2022) is a clear nod to the Italian film composer’s style. Producer Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys) helped catapult them to global recognition, a momentum that’s continued with their follow-up, 'Sonido cósmico' (2024).
