Cliffords
Cliffords is undeniably Irish. It’s in the way of storytelling, in the melodic refinement that tends towards The Cranberries and in the emotional outbursts that hint at Sinéad O’Connor. Much can be attributed to frontwoman and guitarist Iona Lynch. She completely immerses herself in the lyrics and tells her tales with the same pathos as Florence + the Machine. “We try to capture the complexity of love, heartbreak and the self-reflective nature of our generation.” Cliffords is one of the eye-catchers of the vibrant scene in Cork, Ireland's second city. The quintet made their mark at discovery festivals such as The Great Escape and Eurosonic. The EP 'Strawberry scented' (2024) is their first calling card. Paid for out of their own pockets because Cliffords does not have a record company - yet.
