Corella

Corella has been tipped as the next big band from Manchester. As the successors of The Smiths, The Stone Roses and Oasis, the foursome can be situated at the intersection of these titans. Ben, Faw, Jack and Joel met in their first year at university and everything immediately seemed to fit. They each played a different instrument and shared a love for the same music. Among the old favourites, these are The Beatles, Dire Straits and Led Zeppelin. Among the live groups, they have a collective soft spot for Bombay Bicycle Club, Foals and Two Door Cinema Club. Their debut album ‘Once upon a weekend’ (2024) sounds like a boyhood dream come true. It offers richly varied indie pop that radiates ambition and enthusiasm. In the distance, you can already hear the big stadiums.
