David Alan Kushner II – yes, that’s his full name – never let anything stop him from chasing his big dream. After high school he moved from Chicago to Los Angeles. Penniless and without a plan. But the call of the muse was strong. He taught himself to play guitar, found a voice coach and started posting covers on TikTok, the place to be for getting discovered these days. A good fairy must have smiled on him.  His songs ‘Miserable man’ and ‘Mr. Forgettable’ from his first EP ‘Footprints I Found’ (2022) scored over 1 billion streams in 1 year. In no time, he gained 3.5 million followers on Instagram. How do you do that? With the kind of soulful pop that’s on display in all its glory on his debut album ‘The Dichotomy’ (2024).
