Pommelien Thijs

Pommelien Thijs is not yet 25 and she already has almost everything she could possibly dream of on her list of achievements. At least in the Low Countries. This year, another nine Ancienne Belgiques will be added, and two Sportpaleizen are already planned for 2026. Only for Rock Werchter was there still a question mark on her bucket list. Sunday 6 July will be the crowning glory of the first five years of an absolutely meteoric career. Thijs made the charts for the first time in 2020 with ‘Nu wij niet meer praten’, a duet with Jaap Reesema. That early start immediately set a record: after all - at 19 - Pommelien was the youngest singer ever to have reached #1 in our country. The rest of the story is Belgian music history: hits, even more records and a trophy cabinet the size of a warehouse. And as she sings herself: ‘The best is yet to come’.
