Shaboozey

Collins Obinna Chibueze was born to Nigerian parents in the American state of Virginia, the cradle of Americana, bluegrass and country. As a young boy he prefers hip hop but gradually begins to build musical bridges to that old-time folk music. He does that as Shaboozey, an adaptation of his family name. In 2024, the man scores an unlikely hit with ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’. Unlikely because the song combines rap and country. Also unlikely because it charts an impressive course in the hit parade. ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ stays at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 19 weeks and thus becomes the biggest hit of the 2020s in the United States. Shaboozey also features as second voice on two songs from the award-winning album ‘Cowboy Carter’ (2024) by Beyoncé.
