Fat Dog
London's Fat Dog is the result of the sudden abundance of free time during the lockdowns. From all that messing around arose a colourful gang that made a masterful debut with ‘King of the Slugs’ (2023), a seven-minute klezmer-post-punk epic about a man who smears himself with Vaseline and slides into the night. It is a telling example of the fantastic nonsense that the five-piece ensemble produces. Fat Dog was signed by Domino Records (Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand) who paired them with top producer James Ford. The work ‘WOOF.’ (2024) is a bubbling brew of electro, punk, techno and rave that dispenses with conventions and degenerates live into a kind of black mass. Dance music for the end of the world. Don't be alarmed: drummer Johnny Hutch habitually wears a dog mask.
