Sigrid Solbakk Raabe made a smashing impression in the summer of 2017 at major European festivals such as Glastonbury and Roskilde. Everyone predicted a great future for the young Norwegian artist - she was 20 at the time. That future started to unfold when Sigrid was named #1 on the BBC Sound of 2018, a prestigious list of the rising stars of tomorrow. Previous winners include Adele and Michael Kiwanuka. Sigrid was praised for the self-confidence and charisma she already radiated at such a young age. Musically, she gradually transformed the influences from her youth - Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Raitt, Neil Young - into eighties-style synthpop, carving out her own space alongside among Scandinavian peers like Lykke Li, MØ and Robyn. Her latest work is aptly titled ‘The Hype’ (2023).
