Weezer
Nerd alert! Weezer's geek factor is huge and there's nothing wrong with that. They're actually 24-carat pop songs. Think The Beach Boys with loud guitars. Weezer was born in the waning days of grunge and opened with one of the best albums of the 1990s. 'Weezer' (1994), also known as 'The Blue Album', is a timeless hit with sing-alongs like 'Buddy Holly', 'Say it Ain't So' and 'Undone - The Sweater Song'. After that super start, the beauty keeps washing up with great regularity. Listen to 'Hash Pipe', 'Island in the Sun' and 'Beverly Hills'. Weezer also remains unusually funny. In 2018, the Americans covered 'Africa' by Toto at the request of a fan. An answer followed with Toto’s reworking of 'Hash Pipe'. After 30 years, Weezer is still audibly in love with music. This will be their fourth time in as many decades at Werchter.
