Amyl and The Sniffers
Adrenaline! Melbourne’s Amyl and the Sniffers are the most electrifying punk band of the moment - a group for whom the term "razor-sharp" seems tailor-made. What started as a joke a decade ago has grown into something serious, evolving with each high-octane performance. Their sharp riffs and cheeky humor draw inspiration from British punk legends, but the delivery is pure Australian pubrock. Frontwoman Amy Taylor is a whirlwind — a writhing, singing force of nature with enough energy to power a small city. Their big break came in 2019 when they toured with fellow Aussies and enthousastic fans King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Now, on their third album, Cartoon Darkness (2024), the riotous rebels are once again gloriously out of control. Razor-sharp indeed. And for the language enthusiasts: amyl is Aussie slang for poppers.
