Goose
Goose’s first single recently turned 20. The quartet from Kortrijk celebrated this with a memorable performance at the Lotto Arena in November. They’re following up this year of celebration with their fifth appearance at Werchter. The group achieved international fame in 2006 with ‘Bring It On’. They present as an electronic rock band with a strong emphasis on design and aesthetics. Their live performances are huge parties. Their big sing-along track is ‘Synrise’, which is ironically almost entirely instrumental, except the ‘oowoohoo-oo-woo’. It took some time for the public to truly embrace the song, but the shortened radio version managed to break the curse. ‘Synrise’ became Goose’s signature song and seems to work everywhere: from films, to a campaign for fashion brand Dior, to Grand Theft Auto. The Guardian accurately described Goose as "an onstage powerhouse, successfully bridging the gap between electronic music and rock" – something they proved once again on their latest album ‘Endless’. The birthday party goes on.
